I'm a recent Stanford grad (MA, 2002; PhD, 2003) and now a new Stanford professor. I have a new, spacious home for rent in the desirable "University Square" neighborhood.

The house features an enormous Master bedroom: The room is 15X15 with high ceilings, and also has a private Master bathroom (an additional 12 X12) with a jacuzzi bathtub, a separate stall shower, two separate vanities, a huge walk-in closet, and an office/study space. There are three other nice-sized bedrooms and a laundry area with top-of-the-line May Tag washer/dryer and extra countertops and storage. The open floor plan features high, vaulted ceilings, a large "great room" and a granite countertop kitchen with an island. The house was built in 2001 and so it equipped with DSL, cable, etc.

The home is located in "University Square" right near the Highway 101 shopping plaza on University Ave, close to the Stanford campus (a bike ride away for the green-conscious, or a short drive up University for the rest of us! :-) ) and walking distance to IKEA, Home Depot, Starbucks, a huge new supermarket, and 2-3 minute drive to tons of restaurants and cafes in downtown. There is also a bus stop directly across the street that takes you straight down University Ave to the Caltrain station, and to campus. For commuters, University Square is right off of the 101 and very close to the Dumbarton Bridge (to 880, East Bay) and the 85.
