Want to see a short play about AI safety and Greek mythology, written and performed by humanities students who are qualified to talk about one of those things at most? Come to Stanford Classics In Theater's "The Bacch-AI", a very loose adaptation of Euripides' tragedy "The Bacchai"! Dionysus, a tech CEO drunk on power, faces off against Pentheus, a Luddite journalist... Will the people of Palo Althebes be turned into paperclips, succumb to the slop, or achieve a wellnessmaxxed AI utopia?
Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23 @7pm in the Elliot Program Center. Entry is free and no tickets are required.
Event details are sourced from Stanford’s public events feed. Times shown in Pacific time.
