Join Honors in the Arts student Kristine Pashin for a showcase of The Shape of Suffering: Votive Intermediaries of Pain, an interdisciplinary project exploring representations of pain, ritual, and embodiment across art history, medicine, and visual culture. The exhibition examines how suffering has been mediated through objects, images, and acts of proxy across historical traditions, bringing together themes of devotion, anatomy, spectacle, and healing through a digital exhibition and accompanying written book.
This showcase is presented as part of a larger student exhibition featuring independent arts-related work across disciplines.
This project was completed as part of Stanford Arts Institute's Honors in the Arts program.
