I am looking for a housemate for the master bedroom in a beautiful spacious 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment in Menlo Park. It is on the second floor of a small house in a very quiet and safe neighborhood (corner of Santa Cruz Avenue and Fremont Street in Menlo Park). Downtown Menlo Park and Trader Joe's are just a couple of blocks away, Safeway a short bike ride, 10 min walk to Menlo Park CalTrain, 10 min bike to Stanford campus.

Both the bedroom and bathroom are very spacious with a lot of natural light. The bedroom is currently furnished with a king sized bed, a side table, a 4 drawer chest and a floor lamp. You are welcome to buy the furniture or you can choose to furnish it yourself. It has a large walk-in closet and additional storage space across the hallway. You will get full use of the shared kitchen and living room with a balcony. The unit has a washer and dryer downstairs, a storage unit (you can lock your bike there), a carport and central AC/heating. Landlord doesn't allow pets/smoking.

The lease is up in August 6th but the place is cleared out and ready for move in immediately. The lease is for one year with more flexibility possible after that. The rent is $1,600 + utilities (internet, electricity and gas, your share would be about $60 in the summer and $75 in the winter). Deposit is also $1,600 to be returned when vacating the unit.

I am a Stanford postdoc in the Chemistry department and mostly work, go to the gym, hang out at home in the evenings and travel over the weekend. I am looking for someone who is tidy and organized and keeps the place nice.
