Description

We are looking to fill one bedroom in our big 5-bedroom, 5.5 bath house, as soon as May 14. The house is a very spacious (2540 sq. ft.), 2-story Redwood City home in a quiet neighborhood just off of Woodside Road, between 101 and 280. It is walking distance to Safeway, restaurants, two bars, and a shopping center. It was 100% renovated about 2 years ago, including all flooring, kitchen, addition of the entire second floor, 2 new bedrooms, and 2.5 new bathrooms. It's basically a 2-year old house.

One housemate is moving out to live with his fiancee, and the four remaining housemates have been together for 0.5-6 years. We have lived at this location for 2 years and are on good terms with the homeowner and leasing agency. The homeowner wants to extend the lease for at least one more year, and we are in the process of setting the terms. We expect that he will want to continue renewing the lease in 2027 and beyond. Preference will be given to those who can fulfill the lease through May 2027.

ABOUT US
4 guys in our 30s:

  • Engineer at a sports tech company. Likes hockey, traveling, cooking, repairing his truck, searching for hangover cures.
  • Engineer at an academic research lab. Likes snowboarding, craft beer, Frito pie, building things.
  • Automotive engineering manager. Likes hockey, rock music, hockey, eggs, and hockey.
  • Hard tech engineer in renewables. Likes hikes, concerts, video games.

The house is generally quiet, very clean, and does not appear to house 5 tenants. We sometimes run into each other in the kitchen and catch up. On Fridays, two or three of us usually order pizza and watch a movie, and we sometimes do a weekend barbecue. Occasionally we walk to the local dive bar for drinks. Otherwise, we typically do our own things, but the door is usually open to hang out.

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a laid-back, clean, responsible housemate who will contribute to keeping the place enjoyable and the kitchen very tidy. Cleaning up after yourself right away is a must. We want to maintain a respectful, friendly environment where we occasionally host dinners/barbecues with friends or significant others.

WHAT TO DO
Please tell us a bit about yourself, your move-in timeline, and your soonest availability to do a virtual tour and/or in-person tour. We're not big on social media, but sharing your LinkedIn and/or Facebook would be helpful.
