I have one unfurnished bedroom w/ a separate private entrance and private bathroom in spacious 2 bedroom apartment for rent near Oakland's Laurel district. The apartment has high ceilings, lots of natural light, is fully furnished but the room will come unfurnished. The room has a decent sized closet and there is some additional storage available. The kitchen is shared and fully stocked w/ all the utensils one could want and there is also a shared washer/dryer in the unit.

The ideal roommate would be a quiet working professional or graduate student. You would be sharing the apartment with me, a PhD student and I have a home office and need lots of peace and quiet to write my dissertation during the day. I live a monastic existence so this is not the spot to host rowdy social gatherings etc, etc.

Your portion of utilities which is wifi and PG&E (depending on our usage of the gas heater during the winter) is no higher than $100 but usually much less during the warmer summer/spring months.

Move in August 16th and pay 1/2 rent ($600) + deposit ($1250) = $1850 move in costs. Month to month but I prefer to have someone who is willing to stay for the year.
