Hello Peninsula house hunters! We have a large sunny bedroom available July 1 in our spacious Palo Alto house. The room gets great sunlight, overlooks a big balcony, and has huge closets. We are currently a close group of 8 community-oriented housemates in our mid 20s to mid 30s who work in clean energy, health, academia, gaming, and technology. We pride ourselves on our welcoming house dinners (about once every other week for the house and once every other month for our broader community), community-building at Ice Cream o'Clock, and sharing adventures both here and abroad.
Here's a little more about ourselves:
M just finished her Masters in Computer Science and hosts ice cream o'clock on the reg. Her ideal day includes a long bike ride, algorithms, and cooking dinners out of her Secret Santa Cookbook.
S is global and dynamic. She use to walk and study education in China. Now she drives and studies US health care policy. She's working on her flexibility.
MB works in clean energy and enjoys trips to the computer history museum. His hobbies include exploring new cuisines, finding new cultural events in Palo Alto, sending real-talk emails, and winning wiffle ball championships. He's currently looking for a new squash partner.
J goes with MB. She is a new permanent addition after many prior visits. She is excited to be closer to Mitchell park for weekly silicon valley pickleball weekend games. She needs rice to survive and is using her business training to build her own.
Outside of economic research, T loves long meditative runs and surprise off-road Google Maps bike shortcuts. He'll listen patiently or crack you up with his understated German sass. On weekends, he uses our large kitchen to make loads of delicious food like Moroccan stew to share.
E thinks people should read more, but she's not pretentious. She is an expert in North Korea foreign policy and fights global threats in your news feed. Resident house TedTalk creator/enthusiast
N goes with E and is always happy to see you. He dabbles full time in photoshop, designing his own video game. If you set it, he'll spike it in his weekly volleyball games.
D once brought back russian babka and has forever held a special place in all of our hearts. She's a qualitative researcher, aspires to join the circus, and occasionally does yoga twice per day. Plus, she has a costco card.
Our house has a two car garage currently filled with bikes, skis and other adventure implements, a spacious backyard with a fire pit, wood deck and grill, the most amazing hosting kitchen / living room / dining room / great room combo on the Peninsula and walking distance to a grocery store, Rick's Ice Cream, and the one and only Great Clips (ok, there's more than one...)
What we'd like to hear from you!
We're hosting interviews to meet the housemates on Monday 6/11, Wednesday 6/13, and Monday 6/18 (only if necessary) from 6-9pm. Please send over a link to your LinkedIn or Facebook page as well as your availability to come over and meet us. We expect to have a decision by 6/19 at the latest. First month rent due immediately upon acceptance / intent to move (no later than 6/20). Security deposit is $1430 due on move in date (details provided during interview). Utilities and shared house supply costs shared among housemates ~$60-80/month. We share equally in house chores and agree to keep the house clean and orderly.
