This is a great bright and cozy place with a large yard to call home for a month or for many months. The location is fantastic with easy access to transportation (BART and freeway) and many great spots around Oakland (including downtown). A Ford Bike docking station on our block makes it quick and easy to access Bart or downtown.

The apt:
A lovely 3 bedroom/1 bath, 1300sq ft flat, in a remodeled West Oakland Victorian 3 unit home. This ground floor flat has been newly renovated and features bamboo and hardwood floors, large closets, east facing bay windows with garden view, private entrance, living room, dining room, central heat, bathroom with tub, large kitchen with new appliances including gas stove and dishwasher.

The house:
In addition, this flat shares a number of amenities with the other 2 apartments including: an off-street parking spot (also ample street parking), shed for extra storage, washer/dryer, sunny back yard with BBQ, veggie and medicinal herb garden, chickens, fruit trees and front garden full of flowers.

Location:
This charming Victorian home is located on a mellow block in West Oakland's sweet spot, the historic Oak Center neighborhood, nestled right between Lowell Park and DeFremery Parks (boasting swimming pools, tennis courts, skate park and a library). It is literally minutes walk/bike from Uptown and Downtown, Jack London Square, Mandela Foods Cooperative, Dripline Cafe and Kilovolt Coffee, Ghost Town Brewery, the Fox and Paramount Theaters, the Crucible and numerous art spaces. Our block is family-friendly and our neighbors are great.

This is also an ideal commuting location, just a short walk or bike to either West Oakland or 12th St BART and super easy freeway access. You get the best of both worlds: convenient proximity to all the amenities of Downtown Oakland (but chiller and much more affordable) and easy access to transit (but far enough away to avoid the sketchier areas next to BART and the freeway). Like I said, it's the sweet spot.

About us:
One of us has been in the Bay for about 5 years. The other recently returned to the Bay from Africa. Both of us have decently demanding jobs, which take up most of our weekday time. We also travel frequently on the weekends. Those travels often entail outdoor adventures around California. We both have established friend groups and tend to keep busy. We also have a side business where we build furniture out of weathered wood imported from Africa. We are friendly, chill, and easy going. We like the home to be warm and inviting.
