Hi! I'm moving out of a lovely shared house to live with my boyfriend, so my fantastic roommates are looking for someone new to join their home. You'd be taking over my lease with a move-in date of December 16, 2015 (the date isn't flexible - sorry!). Please read the whole post before contacting us! If the listing is up, it's still available. We'll be interviewing people on the evenings of 11/2 and 11/5. In your reply, please let us know if you'll be available to interview in person on those days.
The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on one level in Palo Alto, just off the 101 in a quiet, safe neighborhood between Embarcadero Rd. and Oregon Expressway. There's a shuttle just around the corner to Stanford, and it's also bikeable (2 roommates commute to campus). We have a garage for storage, plenty of street parking, and a backyard (the landlord pays for a gardener). In the house, we have a dishwasher in an enormous fully-stocked kitchen, a washer/dryer, and even a working fireplace. The house is furnished in the common spaces, but we welcome your furniture if you want to bring anything - just let us know if it's something big.
The bedroom is large (comfortably fits a queen bed and other furniture) and unfurnished, with wood floors, 2 windows, and a big closet. I may be willing to sell my very nice queen bed if you need one. You will share a bathroom with one other person (female).
The rent is $1150 plus $40-$100 for utilities/internet (varies seasonally) and $20 per month for a cleaning service for the common areas. The security deposit is one month's rent.
The roommates are 1 guy and 3 gals (we like having a mixed-gender house!), all young professionals, working in marketing, as a teacher, at Stanford, and as a vet. Things are fairly quiet most evenings, but we enjoy hanging out when we're at home at the same time. Everyone is responsible, respectful, and contributes to keeping the house clean and homey. We're looking for someone who is similarly friendly, kind, clean, and fun. Unfortunately, there are no pets allowed.
Please drop us a line with some info on you and your situation -- the more info the better, and social media profiles are helpful! We'll get back to you, if you seem like a good fit, with some time(s) you could come by. Please keep in mind this is to take over a lease that goes through May 2016, with the option to renew for a yearlong lease starting June 1 (to build house continuity, the roommates would strongly prefer someone who is likely to renew).
Thanks!
