12/26, 1/1 Start, or Later: Big, Beautiful Bdrm + Private ½-Bath in Nice Home

A large, nicely furnished bedroom with an attached, private, ½-bathroom in my charming 2-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom house in a very pleasant, quiet, residential, tree-lined neighborhood of Palo Alto will be available for rental to 1 person starting December 26, 2012; January 1, 2013; or later (depending on needs of tenant).

The room is furnished with a double bed, nightstand, desk and chairs, and mirrored armoire (for clothes). Also, the house, which has hardwood floors, is fully furnished. There is access to the fully equipped kitchen, dining room, washer and dryer, and storage in the garage. The house has a pretty backyard with a patio, fruit trees, and a pond.

Parking is in front of the house on the street. Location is a quick bicycle, bus, or car ride to/from the California Ave. station of CalTrain or Stanford.

As I am a medical writer (have PhD) who works mainly at home, I wish to maintain the tranquil ambiance of my place. Therefore, the tenant cannot have parties, dinner parties for their other friends, and/or frequent guests staying overnight or longer. Arrangements for an overnight guest have to be made in advance; a nominal nightly fee for an overnight guest applies.

Due to sharing the main bathroom for showers and baths, I am more comfortable renting to another woman. Pets and smoking are not allowed.

Rental period can range from 1 month to 9 months or longer. Rent (including wireless access to the Internet, utilities, and gardening service) for the room is $1,500 per month. First month’s rent, final month’s rent (for periods longer than 1 month), and refundable damage deposit of $500 are required.
