There is a choice of two different apartments here. :)

My roommate recently moved to Boston for work, and I have someone temporarily staying in the first apartment, where I have lived for 2 years. It is somewhat larger, has a pool, and allows small dogs.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine manages a second apartment that has recently come open. My new roommate and I could both move in there. It has hardwood floors throughout, a patio, and the benefit of a manager with whom I have a good personal relationship.

Commonalities between both:
~$1350 per month + utilities
Private bedrooms
Shared bathroom
Since most of my friends are married by now, and I almost always go to them, there is the possibility of using the living room in either place as a home office—my former roommate did so—with a somewhat different division of rent.
Unfurnished - the furniture in some of the pictures will go with the temporary roommate
Gas stove and heating

Quiet, safe neighborhood
Long-term situation, requiring credit and reference checks, lease

Many things are negotiable. The most important thing to me is living with another solid, respectful, clean, and quiet lady.

A little more about me:
I'm in my late 30s. I'm a Stanford and Northwestern alum, and I work as a tutor. I always tutor outside the house. At home, I enjoy reading or sometimes watching a show on my laptop. I like to strike a balance between being social and having quiet time. When I go out, I love outdoor activities and traveling.

I have food restrictions, so it is very important to me that my roommate be able to respect my separate food preparation area.
