The car is a silver, MANUAL, 2001 Toyota Corolla with 157k miles on it and CLEAN TITLE. The car runs really well and is in good condition. It has power windows, power locks, sun roof, cruise control, and custom cd/mp3 player with external audio input.
California registration valid through August 2013 (renewed last month, saving you $100)
Passed smog inspection (9/15/2012)
Very clean (inside and out)
We are going to be upfront and tell you everything that has been an issue as we have been driving the car (we don't want to waste your time or ours). The clear coat above the paint is wearing out in some places (picture included). The windshield wiper fluid reservoir is cracked at the top, so it can't hold the full amount in the resevoir. It does hold about half the amount, so the wiper fluid still works, but you have to refill it a little more often. When the car is almost stopped or when it has just begun moving, there is occasionally a single audible click. We took it to our mechanic who we trust and he couldn't find anything wrong after having two separate technicians looked at it. He did recommend that we replace the spark plugs and clean out the ignition area, which we did. The backseat driver's side window works, but after rolling it down all the way it takes about 5 minutes or so for it to "recharge" before it can be rolled back up. So it works, you just need to give it a few minutes if you've just used that window. All other windows (including the sun-roof) work as they should. We have had one person come and look at it and they noticed that the front bumper has a slight gap (less than half an inch) underneath one headlight that isn't under the other headlight.... it's not really noticeable; you have to feel it to even know it's there, so in my opinion a smaller issue than the chipping clear coat, but I was able to verify what they saw, which is why I'm including it. In short, the car is very reliable and has been taken good care of, but like most 2001 cars, it isn't in mint condition. If your looking for a cheap car that will get you from point a to point b consistently, this is the car for you.
The included closeup picture shows a section of the car where the clear-coat has begun coming off.
