I am a stanford grad and have used my Civic since 2017 with no problems. I have complete oil changes every half year (~5K miles). I bought it used after doing an extensive used car inspection check (I have the report and the carfax). I have used it for 10-20 mile round trips from work/school. It's in great condition.
