2BR/3BA Redwood Cottage w/ Ocean Views in Woodside: mid-Aug. to mid-Nov. (flexible).

We are looking to sublet our home while I am conducting dissertation research abroad, from mid August to mid November 2011. We can be somewhat flexible on the dates between July and December.

The house is a gorgeous split-level redwood exterior with two bedrooms and three full bathrooms. There is a deck on the back of the house, and a fire pit and BBQ area. The house is surrounded by redwoods and has filtered ocean views overlooking Half Moon Bay. Over an acre of land. The landlady lives up the hill in a larger home, which also has a rented apartment (our home is completely private, down the hill). Miles and miles of hiking trails around. Mountain House restaurant (themountainhouse.com) within 2 miles and Alice's Restaurant (alicesrestaurant.com) 6 miles away.

The house is fully furnished with everything you will need: linens, stocked kitchen, etc. The master bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom is currently used as an office, but we are willing to convert it to a bedroom with a full or queen bed. Because the second bedroom is the full bottom floor and it has its own full bath, the house would work well for roommates, for a couple with one child, or for a single/couple that wants a home office. We prefer a Stanford affiliate. The home would be perfect for a visiting scholar/professor, or for someone new to the area that wants to have a base from which to shop around for housing.

Within a 25-30 minute drive to Stanford, 30-45 minute drive to San Francisco, 20-30 minute drive to the beach, and a 10-15 minute drive to Interstate 280. You must have a car, as no public transport serves this location. We are open to letting you use our two vehicles for an extra cost.

$2300/month includes all utilities (high speed internet, propane, electricity, water, garbage, and very basic local phone service). A monthly housekeeper can be arranged for an additional $70/month.

Full background check required, plus a refundable security deposit.
