Given the powerful heating element, this kettle will require an outlet with a 20 A breaker. The kettle was used only once; bought this in 2019 when we lived in a place with 20 A breakers, but didn't use the kettle. We then moved to Palo Alto, into a place with 15 A breakers. Kettle was used to brew a tasty beer, but tripped our breakers every couple of minutes. Works well, but check that you have 20 A breakers before buying!
