We are on the search for a housemate to share a townhouse in Menlo Park! It is about 5 miles northwest of Stanford, and takes about 22 minutes to bike to campus.

The townhouse:
3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, washer/dryer, 2-car garage (there is room left for a bicycle and also plenty of street parking), dishwasher, a wee balcony, and a gas fireplace (because??????California is??????cold?).

The fixin??????s:
We have high-speed wireless internet, and no cable/satellite TV service.

10?????? x 11 ????????? single bedroom for rent:
$845 per month, plus utilities/internet.

Move-in date:
September 12 or earlier is preferred, but we are flexible and can pro-rate rent. It is more important to us to find the right housemate!

About us:
M:
Male, 32, should be in dissertation writing mode but is having so much fun with research and other distractions. Likes music, good food, design, and knows all about movies.

C:
Female, 28, trying to balance out grad student drudgery by occupying herself with fun things such as: cooking, baking and eating all sorts of delicious food, playing capoeira, going to live shows, learning how to sail and do aerial fabrics, figuring out how to fix/maintain bikes, and being hands-on crafty. She doesn??????t watch much TV but is not opposed to television, and is a big fan of movies and cartoons as well!

About you:
Male or female, mid-to-late twenties/early thirties preferred, capable of keeping things clean and neat (i.e. you do your own dishes and tidy up after yourself). You are uncomplicated and live life without excess drama. You are quiet and respectful of others, and are okay with not wearing shoes in the house. You are intellectually interested in a variety of subjects and you like to be able to socialize with your housemates???????to have conversations with them, share a dinner or two, hang out and have a laugh. You are environmentally conscious, meaning you recycle and are at least thrifty enough to turn off the lights when you??????re not in the room. You like privacy, but are not a shut-in. You are responsible and have a good sense of humor. Maybe you enjoy cooking, or maybe you just like to eat good food. You actively enjoy life and are a busy and happy individual during your non-working hours. You don??????t mind staying up late, nor do you mind music or noise, but you are respectful of others and won??????t shake the roof after midnight. You like to have a good time, but you probably also prefer that wild parties do not continue into your own home. You do not smoke in the house (if at all). You are not a heavy drug user (if at all).
