Hello!

We're looking for a new roommate in our 4 bedroom ranch style house in Midtown Palo Alto, as one of our roommates is starting grad school across the country. Utilities and internet are not included and run about $70/person during the summer and a bit more during the winter. The room will be available July 1st and rents for $975/month. It may be possible to arrange a slightly earlier move-in date if needed.

We're all friendly and get along well with everyone. Here's a little info about each of us:
• Josh works as a software engineer and enjoys swing dancing (when there isn't a pandemic) and hiking.
• Matt works as an electrical engineer nearby and plays lots of ultimate frisbee.
• Nestor is a postdoc at Stanford and enjoys hiking, surfing and any outdoor activities.

FYI, we are all currently working from home most days, and may be doing so for a number of months. We're all trying to stay cautious and safe about COVID, while still trying to enjoy as much of the local area as we can.

The available room is about 11'3" x 9'5", with a floor-to-ceiling closet that is 3'9" wide. room is not furnished but there may be an opportunity to purchase furniture from our roommate who is moving out. If you're interested, we can put you in touch with her.

The house comes with
• two full bathrooms
• washer/dryer
• shared kitchen with all the typical appliances (you can cook all you want!)
• two fridges/freezers (no worrying about space!)
• living and dining rooms
• a common storage room
• garage (doesn't fit a car, but great for bikes)
• a sunny backyard with a garden (we're growing a few tomato and tomatillo plants right now), great for BBQs.

Just so there are no surprises, here are some things we don't have:
• no dishwasher
• no central air conditioning
• landlord doesn't allow pets

This is a great neighborhood for spending time during COVID closures - there's a nice park a two minute walk away, a Safeway a 5 minute walk away, a few cafes (Philz, Bills, Palo Alto Cafe) with open outdoor seating in walking distance, and you have access to hiking in Foothills Park, which doesn't get too crowded. The neighborhood is super quiet and is really nice for evening walks.

The house is 3 minutes from 101 and 10 minutes from downtown Palo Alto. For those at Stanford, we're 10 minutes away driving and 20 minutes of easy biking. The area is easy to bike around, with lots of bike lanes and quick access to the Bay Trail. There's also plentiful street parking and a spot in the driveway for you too.

The lease is month-to-month. Normally, we prefer that people plan to be in the area for at least a year or so, but we may be open to shorter arrangements depending on the response to this ad. The landlord will expect 2x rent at signing (last month and security) and July rent will be due on 7/1.
