$975 / 106ft2 - Looking for a roommate in our 4br Palo Alto house

Hello!

We're looking for a new roommate in our 4 bedroom ranch style house in Midtown Palo Alto, as one of our roommates is heading back to school. Utilities are not included and run about $65/person during the summer and a bit more during the winter. The room will be available October 1st, with the potential for arranging an earlier move-in date if needed, and rents for $975/month.

We're all friendly and get along well with everyone. Here's a little info about each of us:
• Josh works as a software engineer and enjoys swing dancing (when there isn't a pandemic) and hiking.
• Matt works as an electrical engineer nearby and plays lots of ultimate frisbee.
• Nestor is a postdoc at Stanford and enjoys hiking, surfing, and mountain biking.

We are all currently working from home most days, although two of us are occasionally heading into the office as needed. We're all trying to be fairly cautious about COVID while still trying to enjoy as much of the local area as we safely can, and are looking for someone taking a similar approach.

The available room is about 11'3" x 9'5", with a closet that is 3'9" wide. The room is not furnished.

The house comes with
• two full bathrooms
• washer/dryer
• shared kitchen with all the typical appliances (you can cook all you want!)
• two fridges/freezers (no worrying about space!)
• living and dining rooms
• a common storage room
• brand new carpets
• garage (doesn't fit a car, but great for bikes)
• a sunny backyard with a garden and a gas grill

Just so there are no surprises, here are some things we don't have:
• no dishwasher
• no central air conditioning
• landlord doesn't allow pets

There's a nice park a two minute walk away, a Safeway a 5 minute walk away, and a few cafes (Philz, Bills, Palo Alto Cafe) with open outdoor seating in walking distance. The neighborhood is super quiet and is really nice for evening walks or runs.

The house is 3 minutes from 101 and 10 minutes from downtown Palo Alto. For those at Stanford, we're 10 minutes away driving and 20 minutes of easy biking. The area is easy to bike around, with lots of bike lanes and quick access to the Bay Trail. There's plentiful street parking and a spot in the driveway for you too.

The lease is month-to-month. Normally, we prefer that people plan to be in the area for at least a year or so, but we may be open to shorter arrangements depending on the response to this ad. The landlord will expect 3x rent at signing (first month, last month and security) for a total of $2925.
