Afterschool mother’s helper needed I am looking for a reliable, kind, organized and efficient after school mother's helper / family assistant to help our family. I am a professional/ Stanford faculty and busy single mom with school age children. I am looking for help 2-3 days a week, mostly Wednesdays and Thursdays for the rest of September and then Mondays and Tuesdays for the rest of the year, with some Fridays. We can create a predictable detailed shift hours at the beginning of each month. Kapahi Lab | Stanford University Location: Stanford Research Park, 1701 Page Mill Road, Palo Alto, CA Pay: $20/hour Position: Part-time undergraduate research assistant The Kapahi Lab is seeking a motivated Stanford undergraduate to join our research team studying the biology of aging, longevity, and neurodegenerative disease using Drosophila (fruit flies) as a model organism. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in biology, genetics, neuroscience, or aging research to gain hands-on laboratory experience and become involved in ongoing research projects. Responsibilities The student will be trained to assist with: Preparing and pouring Drosophila media Basic fly husbandry, including transferring and maintaining fly stocks Setting up and monitoring lifespan experiments Collecting and organizing experimental data Assisting lab members with experiments related to aging and neurodegeneration General organization and maintenance of the fly research area Research Opportunities Beyond routine laboratory work, motivated students will have opportunities to become involved in research projects examining the genetic and metabolic mechanisms of aging and dementia.
