Beware of someone claiming to be interested in your item but then explaining that they are out of town so they will send you a check and once the check has cleared will arrange for a friend to pick up the item from you. You will get a fake/forged postal order for way more $$ than you asked (which I tore up once I realized what it was all about) but they are trying to scam you out of your money. This form of fraud is apparently quite common and as my experience shows not just on the major sites like Craigslist but sadly even here...
