have stayed in this studio cottage for 4 years and I'm helping my landlord look for a new tenant.

I really liked this plane because it's a very cosy studio cottage in a very peaceful part of Menlo Park. The furnishings are rather new and it's a good space for ONE person (I fit a good deal of furniture into the space). There is a nice outdoor gazebo where you can chill outdoors, and plenty of space for gardening. The landlord is very nice and responsive, and he furnishes the cottage to make it better from time to time even without asking. The neighbors (currently two families) are also very friendly and helpful.

There monthly rent is $1450, which includes all utilities (water, electricity, heater, trash) + Internet + Cable tv (all DirecTV channels including HBO channels), so you only have to take care of one bill a month. There is also one parking spot, which is literally 10 feet away from the cottage door. There is a washer and dryer unit next door (not in the studio).

The place is located ~15min drive from campus, and a 20-25 min bike ride.
