This is a great living opportunity if you want the following:
This is on the west side of East Palo Alto, just across from upscale Palo Alto through whose tree-lined streets you get to Stanford. Facebook and Google are also no more than 10 minutes by bike in opposite directions.
The room has a microwave and small refrigerator--good for storing some food and drinks, and for reheating, or cooking hot water for tea/coffee, pasta, rice. NO cooking raw meats and fish--good if you don't cook.
There is no access to the rest of the house, our two sides are cut-off by the bathroom in-between. Your room opens directly into a rough garden.
The room has cross-windows and is well-lit, shrouded by bushes with huge trees outside and throughout this quiet mixed neighborhood of families and Stanford students. It is adequately furnished. For long-term use of the full school year, I offer $300 allowance to buy what you'd like--an extra rug, more sheets, one student bought the printer which is in the room.
Just two blocks away, there is a Starbucks, Laundromat, upscale grocery store, bagel shop, Chinese restaurant, gym, Supercuts etc. (small, new shopping center).
So, there are pluses, and perhaps you might consider minuses. But the rent is accordingly low. The one positive/negative is that the bathroom has to be cleaned after each use--as a result, it is always squeaky clean.
Wifi and utilities (normally $45) are included if rented today and rent is received today. First and last month's rent due.
The attached picture is butterflied to fit the lens. It also has a previous renter's belongings. If you want more pictures, please text me (I cannot send pics via email).
You may get a reference from my previous renter, a PhD student from China: Lei Yang yangl1996@pku.edu.cn
