The Lighthouse Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and supporting disadvantaged youth, is seeking an Executive Director to lead our organization for the next 6-9 months on a part-time basis. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, developing and implementing fundraising strategies, and leading outreach efforts to build partnerships with schools and community organizations.

The position will require approximately 10-15 hours of work per week, with a pay rate of $40/hour.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction to The Lighthouse Initiative:

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the organization's mission and goals
  • Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote awareness of the organization's programs and services
  • Oversee the organization's day-to-day operations, including managing staff and volunteers, overseeing financial management and reporting, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations
  • Create and manage budgets, as well as monitor and report on financial performance
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans and initiatives that align with the organization's mission and goals
  • Represent the organization to the public, including speaking at events and engaging with media outlets

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience leading student organizations and/or in the nonprofit space preferred
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and volunteers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and represent the organization effectively
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
