✨ FALL TANGO SERIES • FOR BEGINNERS ✨
Six Sundays at Feeling Flow · Palo Alto
Discover Argentine tango: an embrace, a shared rhythm, and a conversation without words.
Karn, partnered by Shirin, invite you to a playful, progressive introduction to connection, technique, and musicality. Both Stanford-trained engineers, they bring analytical curiosity and a playful spirit to the dance floor—making tango especially approachable for fellow Silicon Valley nerds!
📅 November 1–December 13
🕑 Sundays, 2:15–3:30 pm
📍 Feeling Flow’s home art studio, Palo Alto
🍂 Six classes, with a Thanksgiving break on November 29
No previous tango experience is needed. All ages are welcome; wear comfortable attire and bring your curiosity!
Whether you’re taking your first dance steps, coming from another dance background, or building on an introductory class, Tango Foundations I will help you develop a dance of your own.
Over six weeks, you’ll explore:
• The tango walk and embrace
• Forward and backward ochos
• The tango cross
• Ocho cortado and traveling ochos
• Giros
Each week also introduces a Flow concept, connecting your dance experience with ideas such as connection, integration, and trusting what emerges.
💬 WHAT STUDENTS SAY
“In the 12 years I've been taking classes at FNW, you're the best instructor we have had in Argentine tango. … you made it easy and fun to learn. … And voila we could dance!”
— Elizabeth Tsai (Gigi), Friday Night Waltz dancer
ABOUT KARN & FEELING FLOW
Inspired by Michael Jackson at age seven, Karn’s dance journey has taken him from Richard Powers’ classes at Stanford to performing Salsa and Bachata with a Los Angeles company, and onward to tango in Buenos Aires and training in Rome with Pablo Verón. He has taught at Stanford, Cigar Bar, MITCNC, Jikoji Zen Center, and the Oshman Family JCC. His teaching emphasizes the principles behind the steps, helping you discover your own expression within the music.
Since founding Feeling Flow in 2022, Karn has hosted leading tango bands and musicians, launched two tango bands, and brought together local and overseas teachers. Events combining Eastern and Western arts, exhibitions by tango painters, and a growing tango library have made his Palo Alto home art studio a rich Argentine tango learning center—a place to dance, listen, explore, and connect.
More advanced series are also offered this fall for dancers with prior tango experience.
