Description

Hi! I’m a female PhD student in Chemical Engineering from South Korea, and I’ll be joining Stanford as a Visiting Student Researcher from November 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027.

I plan to arrive about a week early to get settled, so I’m looking for housing from late October 2026 through April 30, 2027.

<What I’m looking for>

  • Furnished private bedroom, studio, or other private unit
  • If shared housing: female-only household
  • Convenient access to Stanford without a car, ideally by bike or public transportation such as Caltrain, bus, or Stanford shuttle (Palo Alto, Menlo Park, or other nearby areas with convenient access to Stanford)
  • Kitchen, Washer & dryer access
  • Private bathroom preferred, but not required
  • Approximately six-month lease, sublet, or lease takeover
  • Budget: around $2,500/month; I may be able to consider a higher rent for a particularly good fit depending on the location, privacy, amenities, and whether utilities are included

I’d be especially interested in taking over a furnished studio/private unit from someone moving out around late October or early November, but I’m equally open to joining an existing female household looking for a new roommate.

Some of the preferences above are flexible, so please feel free to reach out even if your place doesn’t match everything exactly, as long as the timing and commute to Stanford would work reasonably well. For shared housing, however, I am only considering female-only households.

<A little about me>

  • Female, late 20s
  • PhD student in Chemical Engineering
  • Stanford Visiting Student Researcher
  • Non-smoker
  • Non-native, but fluent and comfortable communicating in English
  • Quiet, clean, and research-focused lifestyle (I expect to spend most weekdays in the lab)
  • About 10 years of experience living with roommates
  • I enjoy being friendly with housemates while also respecting privacy and personal space

I’m currently not in US, but I’d be happy to have a Zoom/FaceTime call and virtual tour before I arrive.

If you have a room or private unit that might be a good fit (especially if you’re planning to move out around late October or early November and are looking for someone to take over) please feel free to reach out.

Thank you!
