I just moved into a wonderful 2bed/1bath private in-law unit in which I am wanting a roommate to share with. The place is in Los Altos, in a beautiful and very safe neighborhood less than a mile from the San Antonio Shopping Center (Safeway, Trader Joes, Walmart, etc.).
About me:
- I am a 26-year-old, female working professional (Stanford grad school alumni).
- I like to party every now and then, but never at home.
- I don't smoke.
- I am not a neat freak, but not dirty. With that said, when sharing any spaces with someone, it is very important to be respectful especially in those areas. Thus, a shared bathroom should be kept very clean, and I am very mindful to clean up (or put in dishwasher) my dishes after cooking or eating.
- I have a 3-year-old, neutered, 65-pound dog. He is super sweet, gentle at heart, well-mannered, and very well-trained. He does not roam the house during the day when no one is home. He either goes to work with me, or stays in my room. Also, he does not sit or lay on anyone's furniture.
- I am very respectful of other's belongings and space.
- Besides work, I like to exercise, go dancing, hang out with friends, play with Roscoe my dog, or watch TV at home.
More about this charming in-law unit:
- Very private. It is completely gated off from the main house, so much more private than you would imagine for an in-law unit.
- Has a backyard and a side yard with a deck and propane grill for bbqs :)
- Good sized kitchen.
- Quiet, safe neighborhood
- Awesome location. Again, within a mile of Whole Foods, Safeway, Trader Joes, Walmart, Starbucks, and 24 Hour Fitness.
- The place has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, and backyard + side yard (no living room). You would have 1 bedroom to yourself, and share a bathroom with me. The unit is designed in such a way that you could have your own entrance, bedroom and hallway blocked off to yourself if you want. I am totally flexible here.
- The landlord is super nice!
- There is parking on the street immediately outside of the unit. This is on a residential street without much through traffic.
- Washer and dryer in-unit
The bedroom available is furnished with a queen bed and nightstand. (These furniture pieces can be removed if you were to have your own bedroom furniture.)
What I would like in a roommate:
- Male or female
- Young working professional, or in grad school.
- Someone who is clean, but won't kill me for leaving a plate in the sink for a day.
- Cool with my dog.
- Need a place around early to mid-June. Preferable move-in would be June 4.
- It would be best if you don't have a dog yourself, but in the case that you do, it may be fine if it turns out we are a really good fit as roommates.
- Rent will be $1500 per month, with an 11 month lease and a $1500 refundable deposit. This monthly price includes base rent and all utilities (e.g., garbage, sewage, water, gas, electricity, and internet).
