A spacious single furnished bedroom with garden views is available immediately in a family home in Palo Alto.

The house is located in the beautiful Palo Alto residential area of Crescent Park between 101 and downtown Palo Alto. Biking takes 15 minutes to Stanford and 5 minutes to downtown Palo Alto with its restaurants, bars, shops and Caltrain. Bullet train to San Francisco takes 40 min. and to Mountain View 10 min. Quick access to 101. The free Stanford shuttle to all parts of campus leaves from the Caltrain station. It is a pleasant 20-minute walk to downtown. Parks, library and places of worship are nearby.

The room and another next to it, which shares the bathroom, are in their own part of the house with a small sitting area. There is no-one in the second room at the moment but it will soon be available for rent too.

The room has hardwood floors, ample closet and cabinet space, and is furnished with a couch, a rug, a small pull-down desk, a single bed, a bookcase, and lamps. Corner window and additional window bring in light from 2 directions.

ALL utilities are included along with high-speed internet access. A washer/dryer is available and twice monthly cleaning is provided.

A kettle, coffee maker and small refrigerator are available next to the room. The kitchen is available for light cooking, vegetarian only (no fish or chicken).

We take our shoes off inside. No pets, no smoking. There is a small, friendly long-haired Jack Russell terrier (Guinness) from Ireland who will say hello to you every day.

For privacy and security, no guests are allowed. I’m a Stanford grad with grown children away at college and I work long hours, often from home. This will work well for a Stanford postdoc, grad student or busy professional. It’s great for someone new to the area looking for a place to land while they find an apartment or for long-term.

Off-street parking may be available. There is ample on-street parking.

Security deposit of $1,200 plus first month’s rent of $1,300 is required on move-in.
