Help!? Ever successfully contested Stanford damaged furniture charge?

If you or anyone you know have ever successfully contested a housing charge (specifically for damaged furniture) please let me know.
I am currently being charged an insane about for a sofa and would really truly appreciate help as I cannot afford the charge.
