1 room in a in a 2-bedroom, 1-bath apt in Palo Alto opening around mid-March. It's a lovely spot in a small building with 6 units. Rent is $1450/month.
Location/Commute Info:
- Around the corner from California Ave. (For those unfamiliar with the area, Cal Ave. is home to many restaurants, a nice wine bar, a true dive bar, a solid farmers' market, and big chain as well as hole-in-the-wall coffee places.)
- Roughly equidistant from 101 and 280 (about 10 minutes to either)
- About one block off El Camino
- Caltrain: 5-minute walking distance to the California Ave. station
- GBus: El Camino @ Oxford stop is a block and a half away
- Across the street from the southern end of the Stanford campus (near Escondido Village grad student housing)
Space/Amenities:
- The living area is fully furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped.
- You will need your own bedroom furniture, although a very comfortable air bed is available if you need something to sleep on while getting settled in!
- The bedroom is big (14'6" x 11'1") with a substantial closet.
- The kitchen has an electric stove, oven, toaster oven, and dishwasher.
- The building has a well-maintained washer and dryer. There is also a laundromat around the corner for larger loads.
- Street parking with a permit (I can share details on pricing/parking situation.)
Situation perks:
- Fantastic landlord (out-of-your-hair but extremely responsive, kind, eminently reasonable)
- Delightful neighbors (a mix of singles and couples with young kids, mostly in their late-20s to late-30s)
- Really, I can't say enough about the location. I'm not moving to the city with a great former roommate because the location of this apartment just makes living here so pleasant.
Other:
The social pace of the apartment is dinner parties/game nights/watch parties.
The landlord has a strict no-smoking policy for the building. Also, no drugs, please.
The room is available for a one-year lease with month-to-month availability after that. The landlord will do a credit check and you will sign the lease. This is not a sublet.
