Hey Guys

I am about to approach the Stanford police to help plant a sting operation to catch bike thieves on campus by asking them to provide a bike with a GPS system. But for that they would need to know the magnitude of the number of bikes stolen from Stanford.

If we succeed in catching these thieves red handed - then it might lead to where they keep or sell stolen bikes and there is a strong possibility that one of those bikes could be yours. Additionally it will send a strong message to the thieves before they steal something from Stanford.

If you could reply to this post by giving the following information, It will be useful for me to convince the Stanford police to take this step in stopping bike robbery at Stanford.(If you dont have the time simply reply with the month in which your bike was stolen)

1. When was your bike stolen ( Exact date not necessary)
2. How much did the bike cost? ( approx)
3. Did it have expensive accessories (Gears, carbon frame etc)
4. Did you report to the stanford police (Yes or no)
5. Any message that you would like to leave or any other info you feel is relevant

Please help out by asking as many people who have lost their bikes to send this information to me. It might be the only thing that can push the cops to take more drastic steps once the magnitude of the situation is exposed.
