Nice two-bed, two-floor Escondido Village townhouse for rent over the summer (we will be in D.C). Schedule is somewhat flexible, but would prefer someone to stay late June until mid September. The rent is incredibly cheap by Palo Alto standards - 1800/mo, including ALL utilities and high speed wifi internet. There are parks on both sides of the house. Plenty of sunlight. Big living room and kitchen. Private backyard with charcoal grill (and complementary charcoal). Kitchen, washer and dryer, all the appliances you would ever need. The place is fully furnished. It is ON the Stanford campus. Easy access to everything. Parking right outside the door. It's a perfect deal.

Here's the catch. We have two aquatic turtles. We are looking for one or two responsible individuals to stay in the house who can look after them over the summer. They are very low maintenance, but we care about them a lot (we've had them for over 10 years, and they have a long time to go - they have a lifespan of 50 years). They need to be fed only once every 3-4 days. The two filters on their (separate) tanks might need to be cleaned once during your stay (about once every six weeks). This is a job that takes around 30 minutes. None of this is very demanding, but we need people who we can really trust to take care of it.
