Look no further, hopefully this is the place for you!
This is a non-smoking, pot-free home. It's ready as of July and can cushion for the first week. I'm looking for someone to stay until the end of April 2014. The apartment complex is the Arbors at Mountain View, which is within 2 blocks away from Target, Walmart, bubble tea :), sushi, Thai food, Trader Joe's, UPS store, Safeway, Ross, BevMo, and a cheap gas station! I think it's 3 blocks to CVS. It's a 5 minute walk to the San Antonio shopping center. And a 25-40 minute bike ride depending on how experienced you are. It take my boyfriend 25 minutes from my place, but I just started riding a bike last month so I'm still getting used to 2 wheels versus 4 :)
Parking is first come first serve, but there's a park literally right across the street (400 feet from my door step), so plenty of parking. Coin laundry downstairs. The complex also has a pool--great for this summer. My apartment is on the 2nd story, and the people around the apartment are very cool and sweet.
The bedroom that is for rent is unfurnished and has 2 closets both of which are sliding door mirrors. You would have your own bathroom with a shower tub. The picture is attached. You get to control the heat in your room! The living room has its own heater and same with my room. The apartment is ours to share. So feel free to roam and chill in the kitchen and living room. I've filled up the kitchen with the necessaries but if you have your own things, there is plenty of room (I only used the bottom shelf and bottom cabinets in the kitchen because I'm kind of short, like 5'2"). This place is open to females, males, singles and couples, but utilities will be split by the total amount of people living in the apartment. The only thing is to make sure you clean up after yourself, I hate making things awkward and nagging.
About me:
I am a 23 year-old female and moved to the bay area a year ago for my job at Stanford. I work Monday-Friday, and I salsa dance with a company up in Oakland. Go Salsamania! My boyfriend stays over 2-3 times a week. He brings the Italian dishes. I bring on the Vietnamese ones, so feel free to join our international dinners :) we love to cook!
I'm slightly allergic to animal dander (so sorry to those who have pets! love them, but I can't live with them). But I'm a fairly clean person: take my shoes off at the door, sweep every week and take out trash as needed (you contribute too once you start living here), do my own laundry (seems like all the time). My dishes are never in the sink for more than 24 hours, so yours shouldn't be either. Basically I expect the same amount of cleaning from the person I live with. No one likes to get stuck with all the chores. Communication is key, so if something bothers you, feel free to speak up. Don't take living situations personally, just make the other person aware.
Utilities, which we would split, runs about $180 total, including trash, sewage, water, heater, electricity, high-speed internet. I don't have a TV, but I'm sure you could set that up if you wanted. When you first move in, it'll be the 1st month rent plus another $1000 which goes to your last month's rent. The last month's rent is the security deposit. I will also need a copy of your application to the apartment.
If you think this could work out, you can email me back (I check my email very often) with the somewhere in the header "cool roommate" so I know you're not a scammer. I'm free to meet and show the apartment if you call/email. 2149291019 Looking forward to living with you!
