I'm a 4th year medical student at Stanford on a year-off but returning this summer to finish rotations. My partner and I are subletting our one-bedroom San Francisco apartment from June 26-September 2 (with a possibility to move in June 18 -- see below) as we will be moving to Palo Alto for the summer so I can finish my remaining clerkship rotations. We would love to sublet to a Stanford student or couple (or recent graduates). Here are the details:
Rent is $6,000 for the ten-week period, which works out to $2,400/month.
This rate includes all utilities, including DSL internet and Dish Network/HBO. We plan on leaving our 60-inch TV behind for the summer.
The apartment is in Diamond Heights, just above Glen Canyon, and is convenient to I-280. About a 35-60 minute drive to Stanford depending on traffic. Several buses go to BART/Muni stops, or it's about a 20-minute scenic downhill walk to the Glen Park BART station. Easy access to UCSF hospitals/downtown via public transportation, biking or driving. I work at UCSF Mt. Zion and commute time is usually 25 minutes (bus), 15 minutes (driving), or 1 hour (walking).
The 720 sq. ft. apartment is fully furnished, as seen in the photos. You'll need to provide bedding and towels, and we'll take a substantial amount of our kitchen equipment with us, but the apartment is otherwise fully equipped. The bed is a Westin "Heavenly Bed." The apartment also has a fantastic view of downtown San Francisco and the East Bay.
Assigned garage parking for one car is included, but parking on the street is easy. You can always get a space in front of the building.
The apartment complex is a block from Safeway/Walgreens, and includes a pool and indoor sauna/spa/workout facility.
Smoking (of any type) is not allowed in the apartment, and we have cats. The cats will be gone, and we'll deep-clean and vacuum before you arrive. But some allergens may remain. This is a quiet building, so would prefer someone not planning to throw any crazy parties.
We would also consider allowing the subletter to stay in the apartment June 18-25 for free in exchange for cat-sitting our two easy, friendly cats.
