Welcome to the Facebook House!

We are a small group of artists, scientists, designers, explorers, and entrepreneurs who live, play, work, and brainstorm together. We live in Los Altos, in the original mansion of Mark Zuckerberg and the early Facebook team when they first moved to California.

We think that a great house culture starts with great people. We strive to have fun together, to foster positive and creative energy, to be there for each other, and to help each other with our various endeavors and pursuits. We hope that even a short stay in our home will be valuable above and beyond the eat/sleep/work space it provides.

To be clear, we absolutely love this place. It's perfect for grad students, visiting scholars, or anyone starting a company or doing an internship in Silicon Valley. I am a PhD student at Stanford and I love that I can get to Stanford in exactly 12 minutes.

Here are some details about the place:

• Several rooms available.
• $1400 per month + utilities (gas, electric, water, high-speed cable internet).
• Abundant parking on the driveway.
• 4000 square feet, 3 story, 8 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom mansion; modern spacious kitchen with new dishwasher; shiny new hardwood floors; giant balcony; huge covered outdoor ping pong area; beautiful back yard with a gazebo; backs onto a creek and a golf course.
• 12 minute drive to the Stanford Campus Main Quad; we're a block away from the 280, so you make great time getting up and down the peninsula.
• The house is enormous and all the rooms have beautiful natural lighting, and there are so many awesome stories that happened here the landlord even wrote a book about it.
• Great air conditioning; it's never too hot in the summer.
• New washer and dryer.
• Tons of storage space.
• Extremely responsive absolute sweetheart Buddhist landlord who takes great care of us.

The rooms are available starting on September 1st, although this date is flexible. The first month's rent and a security deposit of one month's rent is due when you sign our rental agreement ($2800).

You'll be sharing the place with: an early 20s female NYU graduate behavioral therapist world traveler sweetheart who loves standup comedy; a late 20s male Harvard / Stanford PhD student who builds flying robots and DJs in nightclubs all over San Francisco; a late 20s male NYU / Stanford GSB graduate who surfs, used to do standup comedy in New York, and is working on a startup to make the internet funnier; a late 20s Harvard / MIT graduate designer who is working on a bunch of secret stuff at Google and recently started a 360 GoPro video selfie travel diary; as well as several other housemates we're in the process of interviewing.
