Lead developer (Python/Django) @ share economy startup
We're building Rooster, a local sharing community where neighbors share borrow and help one another for free, based on paying-it-forward. We're used by 10,000 families around the Bay Area. (http://rooster.co). This is our entry into the local space, a huge market, where Nextdoor just hit $B valuation.
Founders are ex-Google community leader and UC Berkeley CS PhD. We're currently participating in NFX - a new accelerator founded by folks who've advised and invested in marketplaces and networks for 15 year including Angelist, Lyft, Path and others.
We're looking for someone with Backend orientation (Python / Django) to take on the tech leadership role (VP engineering / Tech lead / CTO type). Our methodology is to build fast, fail fast and iterate. There are 2 other engineers and a designer on the team.
This person needs to have strong technical chops, coupled with great project management and communication skills, strategic thinking, understanding of users, growth and go-to-market. The challenge at Rooster is in carefully crafting a product that users love, with great attention to details and fast iterations. It's important that you're passionate about Rooster's vision and care about the user.
