Stanford Math Brain Project

Seeking 3rd graders with severe difficulties in math who are right-handed- to participate in an exciting study to increase our understanding of math skill development and how the brain changes with math learning.

Participants receive:
• $250 for completing assessment, math training, and brain imaging
• $50 for completing a follow-up visit within 6 months
• Free online math training for 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week, for 4 weeks
• Free one-to-one math training with a tutor for 1 hour each week for 4 weeks
• Pictures of their brain

Participants complete:
• Cognitive and educational assessments
• Brain imaging (MRI scans) before and after 4 weeks of tutoring
MRI scanning is a safe, non-invasive procedure that does not use x-rays or radiation
• A follow-up visit within 6-months to assess long lasting effects of math training
