I am a Swedish visiting professor at Stanford, environmental science. I am looking for private housing for a shorter or longer period. Start and end dates are flexible, and partly depends on what is available. Start date of availability is flexible, from now until November or so. The duration is also flexible, from a couple of months up to end of May.
I prefer walking or biking distance to campus, but I am also interested in something in the hills, closer to hiking and biking trails, I do hope to avoid high way commuting.
About me; I’m 34 years old and will mainly be the sole occupant. I am responsible, clean and do not disturb my neighbors. I am busy with work most of the time and also travel quite often. Privately I enjoy outdoor activities and sports, biking, hiking camping and fishing. So some possibility to wash my mountain bike is a plus. Another plus is some outside table set, patio, garden or similar, not a must though. Furnished is also a big plus, simple furniture is fine though. I am happy to share more information about myself, links to my work homepages (Sweden + Stanford) etc. I am in Sweden right now though and will not be able visit.
My visiting professorship will cover my costs. Direct payment from Stanford University can be arranged, otherwise I have been working at Stanford the last 3 years, and I am happy to provide references etc.
My budget is set by my grant and I intend to try to stick to that and rather adjust the length/cost of my stay. Anything from less than 2000 to 4000 per month is of interest. A cottage or small house would be ideal, but I am also open for other types of housing.
Please email me if you have something that you think would be of interest and we take it from there.
Regards
Anders
