A laboratory in the Genetics Department at the Stanford School of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant as part time with the expertise in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or related field.
Working hours are flexible between 9am to 5pm.
Duties include:
• Good working knowledge of molecular biology and proven ability to perform experiments using molecular biology techniques, including experience working with human blood sample, DNA/RNA isolation, and qPCR
• Familiarity with Illumina’s next generation sequencing library preparation
• Operating liquid-handling automation technologies
• Troubleshooting and testing of developmental workflows
• Maintain detailed records of experiments and excellent organizational skills
• Help with general lab maintenance as needed; maintain lab stock, manage chemical inventory, and safety records
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and close attention to detail
