Rent: $1325 + split utilities (~ $50-$75 per person per month)
I have a room available in an awesome 2 bed/1 bath apartment with covered parking in Mountain View (near Whisman and Middlefield). I have been living here for almost 2 years and am hoping to find someone to move in since my current roommate is moving out.
The room:
The room is unfurnished and is about 13x11.5 with a large closet along one wall (~6.5 ft long). It comfortably fits a dresser, bookshelf, queen sized bed, and still has floor space to spare. They will be adding a private balcony with french doors off the available room between now and when you move in.
The apartment:
The apartment is ~750 sq ft in total, plus a balcony off the living room looking out over trees and a small courtyard, and is on the top (2nd) floor. The apartment was renovated 3 years ago with new kitchen appliances, including an electric stove and dishwasher, and a modern bathroom. There is a large shared closet in the living room for storage as well as a shared linen closet. It is walking distance from the Mountain View Caltrain station, including the weekly farmers market, and downtown Mountain View (~1 mile). The living room and dining area are furnished, though I can accommodate if you have furniture. There is a coin operated laundry room downstairs shared by only 3 apartments. You will have a dedicated, covered parking spot.
About me:
I am a female Stanford alum in my late 20s who works as a materials engineer at a startup in the area. I keep common areas clean and am a respectful roommate. I cook regularly and enjoy baking. I host the occasional game night or dinner party that you would be welcome to participate in.
About you:
I am looking for a friendly roommate who is responsible, respectful, keeps the common areas clean, and who wants to have casual conversations. Overnight guests are okay as long as we give each other a heads up and it is not more than 7 days out of the month (per the lease). I want us both to feel comfortable around the apartment and do more than just ignore each other on the way to our rooms.
Logistics:
The room will be available around the end of June/beginning of July. I am flexible on the specific day. You will need to go through the application process with the landlord. Due upon move in is the first months rent and a security deposit equal to first month’s rent. The lease is month-to-month, with at least 30 days notice on move out, though I would prefer someone who can stay for at least 6 months. The property manager is great and very responsive. No pets allowed.
If you made it through all of this information and it sounds like a good fit to you, send me a message telling me about yourself, what you are looking for, and your expected move in date. Looking forward to hearing from you!
