I am a Caltech grad and a visiting scholar at Stanford University/SLAC. I have been here for a year but I have decided to move back to Caltech. Hence, I have a nice bedroom available in a 2 Br/1Ba apartment in San Mateo near Hillsdale Mall, available in early October. Exact move-in date is negotiable. You will be replacing my lease (until March 2020) and you can decide to continue the lease afterwards. If you need to move-out while under contract, you just have to find a new tenant like what I am doing now. You can, of course, cancel the contract with the leasing office here but it may be costly.

I really like this place! I am only leaving this place as I am moving down to LA. It's close to Trader Joe's, Hillsdale mall (they are completing a new movie theater here), and Caltrain station.

There is a coin/credit card laundry as well as a gym facility within the apartment complex that you can use.

The rent is evenly split up between you and my roommate and it comes out to be around $1550 excluding utilities.

My roommate is in mid-20's and he is a Berkeley graduate. He currently works at a tech startup. He is a mindful/quiet person and respects my privacy.

I have some good quality furniture I can sell. It's up to you. It can be unfurnished or furnished.
