We are looking to fill one vacant spot in our 5br/3ba house situated in the Portola Valley/Menlo Park hills overlooking the bay. The house is a fabulous mid century build that was recently restored by the owner to the intended design of the architect and is on a quiet cul-de-sac with minimal traffic (more details at the bottom for the non-TLDR version). The communal spaces consist of an open kitchen and an open concept dining/living space with a fireplace and plenty of natural light through the floor to ceiling windows, as well as a very large wrap around balcony overlooking the bay. The house also has a small closed storage space & plenty of outside storage behind and under the house. There is also a 2 car carport as well as ample street parking directly outside the house. The house has a w/d, 2 fridges so there’s lots of space for everyone’s food, and is now more or less furnished (the common area pictures are slightly outdated).
The location is great for commuters with short drives to Facebook, Google, Apple, and Stanford. Right off 280, with easy access to San Francisco and Silicon Valley. The commute is pretty much always against traffic which makes driving pleasant and not the typical hate-my-life-parking-lot.
There are currently 4 of us (1F & 3M) and we’re looking for one additional roommate to fill the vacant room.
Master bedroom (2300$): it's the largest room in the house and has its own access to a semi private back patio area overlooking the Bay. The room has its own working fireplace. The room also has a bathroom right opposite it that you would share with one roommate.
Both rooms have built-in closets and we can provide additional furniture. Both rooms are currently available for immediate move in. The lease will end on Oct 31th with the option to renew it.
Deirdre - 28 y.o. North Carolina native. Product manager at a tech/healthcare company & co-worker to Sidd and Stefano. My sidekick is a 5 yo german shepherd mix who thinks she is a mountain goat. Warning: she will demand many pets from you. On weekends you can find us hiking the local trails or chilling in Santa Cruz at the dog beach. My passions are hiking, music, and trying to escape to Lake Tahoe as much as possible.
Oscar - 30 y.o. postdoc at Stanford, EE. Brazilian / Italian, moved frequently around Europe, US and South America in the last 10 years. When not at work I'm mostly surfing, rock climbing and road tripping around California.
Sidd - 29 y.o. product manager who travels a lot for work. He’s only home 10 days out of a month at best. When he’s around, he likes to rock climb, cook, hike, go camping, and deal with general accumulated adulting. Hobbies include photography and traveling (54 countries and counting).
Patrick - 28 y.o. staff scientist at Stanford SLAC.
We love to do communal meals and spend time hanging out when we’re all at home but we do keep fairly busy schedules so if you work from home then the house is pretty quiet during the day (added bonus you’ll get to hang out with Chili during the day)

Stunning Mid-century Modern Design Famous architect John Brooks Boyd created the elegant design of the house, with its open floor plan and classic mid century modern style. Boyd worked with Eichler to develop custom homes for special clients, so the design incorporates many Eichler elements, such as floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive patios, numerous skylights, and other touches designed to bring the outside in. Specialist contractor firm Brady Remodel completely remodeled the house in late 2016, working with master designers to return the house back to its original design and glory.
