We love this apartment and are sorry to leave it. Living room and kitchen have southeast exposure with tons of sunlight and large windows. Kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, a new oven/stove (although stove is electric, it heats very fast), and a disposal. Large windows in the bedroom look out at a fig tree and a lemon bottlebrush tree, as well as the swimming pool below, which is barely used but large enough for short laps and an excellent spot for a barbecue. Apartment includes a covered parking spot and a storage unit, as well as a shared washer/dryer. There's plenty of street parking as well. Location is ideal for bike-commuting: it's just off Park Ave, and less than fifteen minutes to campus (there's just one stoplight at El Camino). Many restaurants (Da Sichuan Bistro, Taqueria El Grullense, Happy Donuts) and stores (liquor store and small grocery store) are within a five minute walk. California Ave, with its farmers market, restaurants, and Caltrain station, is a mile away.
Everything is just a little bigger and better than you'd expect. The bathroom has tons of storage space and a window for good light and ventilation; water pressure in the shower is first-rate. There is a huge walk-in closet as well as a large closet in the bedroom, which has plenty of space for a king bed, a desk, an easy chair, and a small bookshelf. We'd be happy to leave you the handmade California King bed frame, which is hard to disassemble (but we'll take if you don't want it). Apartment is on the second floor (no neighbors above) and shares only one wall with neighbors on the side. It opens directly to a stairway to the outdoors--no need to walk through any common areas.

Rent is under market because we're moving out of the apartment before our long-term lease ends. Although we love the place, we need more space for our home offices during the pandemic. The lease term is also flexible: it could be for one year or could end at the end of May 2021, depending on your preference.
Send us an email or call 650 387 2866 to schedule a visit--we'll leave the apartment well ahead of time to let it air out, and if you have questions we'll wear masks and talk from a safe distance outside.
