The Bubbaland Community in Professorville, Palo Alto is looking for new folks to join us! Our complex has a 5-bedroom downstairs unit, an upstairs studio apartment, and the available upstairs 2-bedroom apartment. The downstairs unit operates as a sustainability and social justice oriented coop, and the upstairs units are welcome to opt-in to any aspects of the coop (from weekly consolidated grocery runs to house dinners to get-out-the-vote postcard writing). We are conveniently located near downtown Palo Alto (10-minute walk to the Palo Alto Caltrain station, a 3-minute bike ride to grocery stores, and a 10-minute bike ride to Stanford's main quad).
As a full complex, we share and communally work to maintain (and beautify!) our outdoor spaces, including a back patio, several garden areas, and a raised bed for herbs/vegetables. We also split utilities/WiFi across the complex, and have ample permitted street parking as well as a driveway with 3 parking spots (allocation to be decided across the three units). Across our three "households," we've been practicing social distancing in our common outdoor spaces but still finding ways to spend time together.
Currently, the coop and upstairs studio are occupied by PhD students and young professionals, and we're sad to be losing the family that previously lived in the 2-bedroom. We're excited to welcome new folks to the upstairs apartment who value open communication, striving for sustainable choices/actions, and investing in community.
The apartment is available as early as August 1st, but the start date can be a bit flexible. The apartment features new paint, a dishwasher, a large living room with a nook area (perfect for a slightly secluded office or reading area), and a huge amount of storage area in the crawl space.
