Looking to sublet a beautiful 1BR apartment in Woodside for at least 6 months and potentially the entire academic year if interested. Available immediately.
Apartment is a 10 minute drive from Stanford campus, 5 minutes drive from Thornwood Preserve and Wunderlich County Park.
Moved here right before the lockdown and it has really taken the edge off working from home. It's a great fit for someone who loves to hike and can work from home. There are tons of animals living on the hillside, I regularly see turkeys, deer, hawks, quails and sparrows sitting at my desk.
Apartment comes fully furnished, including a full set of Tramontina pots and pans and high quality kitchen equipment. Also includes a high end zero gravity chair for the deck as well as a small gas fireplace.
An important note is that the place is not a true 1 bedroom because it does not have a living room. It is the 2 rooms you see in the photos. It's been perfect for me as a single person who works from home (and also is the reason the place is 2200 instead of 3000 =P). Besides the lack of a living room, the conversion was very well done and it feels like an actual apartment.
Previous subletter was a couple but single occupant is preferred. The unit is in the back of a family house and is attached to the main house. The family is an older Japanese couple and is very quiet. The unit is very private (I actually have never seen them except when I happen to see them driving up/down the hill). The wife is the main point of contact for tenants and is a great landlord.
I have a Google album with additional photos that I'd be happy to share on request. Sunrise picture was taken directly from the deck. Apartment would be a sublet which lets me be flexible with the exact amount of time. Longer stays preferred.
Apartment can come fully furnished with what is in the photo for an additional $100 (I pay about $150/month to rent the furniture) or unfurnished, whichever you prefer. Similarly with the kitchen equipment -- happy to remove it if you have your own. There is a very nice in-unit washer/dryer that is on the far side of the deck so that it doesn't take up any space.
I'm subletting because I am a Stanford postdoc and my lab has been closed until at least March of 2021 so I'll be leaving the Bay Area for most of the next academic year. Stanford undergrad/grad/postdoc/employees strongly preferred but open to other occupants as well. Have absolutely loved the place -- if you enjoy hiking and nice views (and a really great deck!) it's hard to do better.
