$1,400
Room Available: $1400/month plus utilities, starting Nov. 1 in a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house in Mountain View.
Start date: The earliest move-in date is Nov. 1 with some flexibility for a later start.
Room: Two rooms are available to choose between. The first is on the ground floor, is approximately 9.5 ft x 9.5 ft, and has a half bathroom attached. This room has two windows and hardwood flooring, and the door opens into the living room. The second room is on the second floor, measuring approximately 10.5 ft x 10.5 ft, with a built-in desk in a nook in the corner. This room is carpeted and also has two windows. Either room would come with access to the full bathroom on the second floor, and this bathroom would be private for you.
House: The house has a full kitchen, a living room with adjoining dining space, in-unit washer and dryer, a backyard, a one-car garage for storage, and two parking spaces in the driveway and overflow parking available on the street (free). The house is relatively private on a cul-de-sac of 6 other houses. The front of the house faces the cul-de-sac, but the main entryway we use is through the backyard into the kitchen, which is where the driveway connects to San Ramon Ave (also where the street parking is located). The living room has a TV, and wifi is easily accessed throughout the house. The kitchen has a microwave, oven, refrigerator/freezer combo, and dishwasher.
Location details: Safeway is walkable (~5 min walk). The San Antonio Caltrain stop is less than a 3 min drive or 5 min bike ride. Less than a mile from Highway 101. Drive time to common workplaces: Stanford’s campus, 15-20 min; Google, 5 min; Facebook, 15-20 min; Apple, 15-20 min. We walk/run/bike to Shoreline Golf Course/Nature Preserve often, and downtown Mountain View is a 5 min drive. Other stores that are easy 5 min drives or less include Costco and the San Antonio Shopping Center (Target, Walmart, Trader Joe’s).
Housemates: Male and female couple, in early 30s. Both are Stanford employees. We are both very social people and use common spaces often (living room, kitchen, backyard). We are looking to find a social person to fill the spot of our roommate/friend who is moving out. This house has a history of making friends out of the housemates, and we often spend time together in evenings, making the common spaces a highly used area for all members of the house. In the before-times (prior to COVID-19), we traveled regularly, spent time exploring restaurants etc in the area, were active outside with sports/hiking, and liked to have groups of friends over. Now we both work mainly from home, meaning the house is occupied by one or both of us nearly all of the time. We can discuss work-from-home arrangements as needed!
Who we are looking for: We are open to either male or female interested parties – more just looking to find the right fit. Ideally, we would find someone who will stay for a year or longer.
Other utility costs: Gas/electric/water/trash/internet usually run about $450 total, $150 each in the most expensive months.
