Furnished room available in downtown Palo Alto next to Stanford

Amazing location five blocks from University Ave and the bustling activity in downtown Palo Alto including the Caltrain and Marguerite shuttle. An easy 20min stroll or 10min bike ride gets you on Stanford campus. It is a very quiet residential neighborhood with sidewalks and white picket fences and neighbors who know each other. Safe and peaceful.

Iris House is a recently fully remodeled painted lady Victorian with beautiful gardens and colorful artwork. There are five fully furnished bedrooms and three bathrooms, along with a full kitchen (with stained glass windows), living room (with piano), family room (with large TV), laundry and lots of garden sitting/lounging areas (including swing and rockers, BBQ and patio tables.)

Homeowner lives in one of the bedrooms and rents out the other three bedrooms individually to professionals, graduate students, interns, and visiting faculty looking for a quiet retreat near Stanford and the heart of Silicon Valley. House guidelines ensure that everyone is considerate and the household remains a peaceful oasis. Each room is for one guest only - no couples.

Rent includes utilities plus WiFi, Netflix and Hulu along with weekly maid service that cleans the kitchen, bathrooms, shared areas and even changes the bed linens (if desired.) House is very near public transport and easy to use without a car plus we have an assortment of bikes to lend. There is also street parking available. Month-to-month leases are available but stays of at least three months are preferred.

Downtown Palo Alto is a lively hub of restaurants, shops, theaters, cafes, boutiques, high tech start-ups and venture capital offices. With a Caltrain station and lots of bus routes, it is easily accessible and a convenient launch pad for local exploration. Stanford University is right next door, with all of its programs, research facilities, museums, hospitals and resources.
