We have a 110 sq ft bedroom available in our shared 3 bed/ 2 bath house, conveniently located in Palo Alto's beautiful Barron Park neighborhood. Stanford campus is a 2–3 mile bike ride away and Stanford VA is just a few minutes away by bike or car. The house has a large, open-plan kitchen with everything you may need, furnished common areas, laundry, a patio with a BBQ grill, and a vegetable garden. We have been working from home part- or full-time for most of this year, and the house has proven a comfortable place to do so. The outdoor space and the walkable neighborhood have been great for exercise.

The San Antonio shopping center (Safeway, Target, Trader Joe’s) is a ~10 min drive away, with smaller stores and take-out options on Cal Ave and El Camino within walking or biking distance.

The bedroom has hardwood floors and a small walk-in closet. It can come unfurnished or furnished with a desk, chair, full-size bed, and storage chest. The bathroom is shared with one housemate.

Your potential housemates are a married couple who have lived in the house for 6 years (Stanford researcher and a cabinet maker) and a subtenant who will be temporarily renting the room next to yours while permanent tenants are away for a few months. There is also a friendly indoor-outdoor cat.

We are looking for another professional or postdoc/student who is considerate, friendly, and clean. We all follow basic COVID precautions (masks when at work/in public, hand washing) and expect you to do the same. We work away from home about 50% of the time, but wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Utilities and internet are ~$75–120 per person.

A long-term or a short-term lease are both possible (on a monthly/weekly basis).
