$2,550
There are 2 rooms available of the 5 bedrooms in the house - the other 3 rooms are occupied by 4 tenants briefly described below.
Area Description
The house is located in Atherton, in between Redwood City and Menlo Park. It is <5 min drive from grocery stores and shopping, 15 min drive or 25 minute bike ride to the main Stanford campus, and 15 minute bike ride to a Caltrain station. The house is on a very quiet street and surrounded by “park like estates”, a great area for bike rides, runs and walks!
House Description
This charmingly outdated home offers lots of space, light, and quirks! There are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a large kitchen with breakfast nook (~3k square feet), and an entryway. There is a washer/dryer on site, dishwasher, and central heating. All utilities including WIFI are shared and average $115/month. There is a 3 car garage with a storage room and loft area.
The yard is huuuugggeeee at 1.5 acres, the backyard is entirely fenced. The landscaping is pretty mature and borders on wild, and although it gets fairly crispy in the summer it’s very lush for 8+ months of the year. The pool is out of service and inaccessible for safety considerations.
As is to be expected in an old home it comes with some character including warped floor boards, no air conditioning, some finicky doors, and a dearth of window screens. To make up for it the house boasts a planting bed inside (the possibilities are ENDLESS), indoor rotisserie grill (we have never actually dared to use it), 5 sliding glass doors (seriously why), and 6 different types of plum trees (for a total of 13)!
Please note that the bedrooms do not come furnished! The living rooms have some furniture, but the photos of the living room include furniture from previous tenants, so it is not representative of the current furniture situation - I'll add updated photos soon.
House Occupants
Current household includes Stanford graduate students and young professionals (2 male & 2 female). Myself and one other are looking for replacement tenants for the last 2 months of our lease because we are currently living in Texas to do some prototyping work. There's a possibility to extend the lease, but this would need to be discussed with the current tenants and landlord.
