Room and private bathroom available in 3 bed / 2 bath apartment in the Allied Arts area of Menlo Park. This quaint apartment is located close to Stanford (11 minute bike, 9 minute drive) – especially the Med School campus. It is also close to many parks and is within walking distance of Safeway, Trader Joe’s and Draegers for easy access to groceries.

The room is the master bedroom on the ground floor of the apartment and has its own private bathroom with a shower. It is approximately 13 X 13 (we haven’t exactly measured) not including the bathroom and entrance area and has lots of space for a bed and desk for your ideal work from home situation. It will be unfurnished.

The apartment is a corner apartment with a spacious side patio and front garden. The kitchen and living room are currently furnished – but some of the couches and appliances are moving out with the current occupants of the room so we’re open to finding new things / you bringing some of your own. Importantly, the apartment is pet friendly and is home to two new kittens (!!) so we’d appreciate someone who is pet friendly and doesn’t have allergies. Individuals with pets will also be considered. The laundry is coin operated, and off-street (in complex) parking has an extra fee – but there is a local park a 1 minute walk away that has free parking that we use – though the apartment is very bike friendly and you don’t really need to have a car here if you don’t want to.

The upstairs is occupied by two women in their late 20’s – one Stanford graduate student and one young professional working in tech. Both of us work from home during the week because of COVID so we’re looking for someone who will be respectful of the quiet hours during the workday. We’re both kind, friendly, and respectful of other people’s space and things and are looking for someone who will be the same. We would also like someone who is COVID careful, but we understand that times are hard and we don’t expect total isolation as long as everyone is being safe and minimizing risk (ie meeting with a known partner / small group of socially distanced friends is okay, going to a giant party not so much).

I really like living in this apartment – the proximity to Stanford really can’t be beat, and the price is really low for the neighborhood. The neighborhood is very safe and I often take walks in the evening. It’s a very special place and we’re hoping to find someone who will be a good fit.

The room will be available Jan 15 with some opportunity to move things in early if needed. The rent is 1400/month and there is a 1400 security deposit paid to the occupants moving out (and will be paid back to you when you move out).
