I am leaving for the summer and subletting my room in our sunny apartment near downtown Menlo Park.
The apartment is right behind the Menlo Park Safeway, removed from the street in a quiet complex. It's about a ten minute walk to downtown Menlo Park, and a fifteen minute bike ride to the Stanford campus. There are multiple grocery stores (Safeway, Trader Joe's, Draeger's) within walking distance, and it is easy to walk to downtown Menlo Park and even downtown Palo Alto.
The apartment is fully furnished, with a newly updated kitchen and hardwood floors throughout. My bedroom is in the back, with a huge window that gets lots of light in the morning. It has a full-sized bed, a dresser, and a decent sized closet. You will share a bathroom with one roommate. The living room is large and bright with two comfy couches and a big tv.
We have both been working from home, and we have a home office set up in the dining room, so it's a great setup for WFH. I have a large desk with an electronic adjustable standing desk and monitor which you are free to use.
There is also a nice outdoor area in front with several chairs, and the wifi reaches outside so we frequently sit in the sun to work during the day.
Roommate is 29F, Stanford PhD student. She will be fully vaccinated, but likely still working from home over the summer.
I'm planning to be gone from late May through late August, but I'm somewhat flexible on the dates so open to discussion. The rent is $1300 a month + utilities (some room for negotiation). I'm open to a shorter sublet but would prefer someone who can stay for the whole summer. You can also use my bike.
I think this could be a good spot for someone who's starting at Stanford and wants to check out the area before committing to longer term housing, or is waiting for their Stanford housing lease to start. It could also be a good option for a student who wants to try out living off campus (trust me, it's better).
